February 2013 Income Report

Wow, my second monthly income report! Once you start something then you must continue to take action until you reach your goal. February was a very short month. My short-term goal is to break the $100 per day mark for 3 consecutive months. I just barely broke the $100 per day mark for February by creating an average of $100.34 per day. I reached my goal! Now I have to continue this momentum into March to make it 3 straight months.

If you read my January 2013 Income Report, you are aware that I am currently using 3 primary strategies to make money online. The 3 strategies are book royalties, product creation and affiliate marketing. Without any doubt my affiliate marketing is responsible for the lion’s share of my monthly income.  Here is a break down of my February 2013 monthly income.

Book Royalties

During February I took one of my books out of circulation so I could work on updating it. As a result my book royalties declined during the month. I will be working on that book this weekend and will get it back published by next week. In addition I have been playing with pricing on my books to see what impact that has on sales. If you are going to test something then you will need to keep it in place for some time – usually at least 2 weeks – to see what impact the change has. Unless something changes my mind, I am going to just leave the new pricing in place for the whole month. This will allow me to compare February sales to March sales.

Product Creation

During February I created a new WSO that I sold on the Warrior Forum. I only advertised it for one week and did not bump it at all. The product grossed $357 in just one week. Product creation is one of the best ways for anyone to get started in Internet marketing. You can share something that know with others. Never short change you ability to know something that others will pay to learn. You do not need a website, an email list or anything else to create a product. My very first internet marketing product was my Amazon Affiliate Bible that I wrote in 27 hours. Yep, I sat at my computer for 27 straight hours and wrote the whole thing and only stopped for bathroom breaks and to feed my cat. I would encourage everyone to consider starting with this strategy.

Affiliate Marketing

This is my bread and butter for making money online. If you have every heard of the Pareto principle then my results of affiliate marketing proves this law. The Pareto principle is also known as the 80/20 rule. In my case more than 80% of my income comes from 20% of my work. For the first time in February I actually won a contest that one of my affiliate programs was running. As a result of winning I received an additional 30% increase in my commissions for the month. It was this 30% increase that put me over the $100 per day milestone.

February 2013 Income

Book royalties: $128.14

Production Creation: $374

Affiliate Marketing: $2,307.25

Total for February 2013 was $2,809.39.

  3. Congrats! You have met my goal. I still have some work to do to get there, but I am progressing. The Pareto principle certainly works in my online endeavors, too.

As long as you don’t stop taking action and making progress then not only will you reach your goal but you will exceed it also. Congrats on your success!

    1. Victoria,

That is great that you found my website from the list. I am working on the 30 day blog challenge too and I am going to be having a great course on creating product review videos available tomorrow. I am going to include some templates that anyone can use to make product review videos without having to purchase expensive software programs like Camtasia.

      Welcome aboard!

  5. Interesting to see your reporting, thanks for sharing. At the moment my bulk income is from Squidoo/Amazon marketing, which makes me very nervous. I’m hoping that my Amazon books will become the big earners in the future.

Look forward to hearing your future monthly updates.

    1. Helene,

I thing you are very wise to be looking into other forms of income. Robert Allen coined the phrase multiple streams of income and it is a strategy that I recommend for everyone because if you put all your eggs in one basket then something might happen to it someday. I wrote a book on real estate investing which is a topic I know very well since I own 24 rental units. I published the book on Amazon in Feb 2011 but did not sell my first copy until April 2011. I have done NOTHING to promote the book except tell my parental units and siblings that my book was published. In past 2 years that one book has generated $1,715.90 in income or an average of $71.50 per month. I can only imagine the possibilities of what it could have earned if I did something to promote the book. Better yet what if I wrote 10 books and promoted all of them then I probably could be making an easy thousand or two thousand each month doing nothing! I think writing books on Amazon is a great strategy for generating an additional stream of income.

Thank you. Yeah we must have had the same dreams and aspirations if we purchased the same products.

  7. Hey Jennifer, congrats on your success. I’m surfing around your site and based on an earler post and Q/A we shared, it sounds like all or most of your aff income is from Amazon. Is that correct.

I know your featuring a couple workout related products, but is your aff direct with the company or exclusive with Amazon?

    Thanks!

    1. Hey Dave,

I am not including my Amazon affiliate earnings in my earnings report. My goal is to earn enough online income by Aug 31st to be able to walk away from my day job without counting my Amazon affiliate earnings because when I quit my day job I am going to split my Amazon affiliate earnings between my 2 sisters to help them out.

The affiliate programs that I am in now have a direct affiliate program so I sign up directly with the company. One – TRX – requires you to go through shareasale which handles the affiliate program for many smaller companies. Generally these companies also sell their products on Amazon but my affiliate links go to the company website to buy instead of Amazon simply because their affiliate commissions are higher than Amazon commission.

Love your debt consolidation website. I did the Dave Ramsey course about 4 years ago and then I took what I learned and today I am debt free. I should call into his radio show and shout that out!

      1. Thanks for the follow-ups. That’s a great goal you have there. I’m still working on making something more than a trickle on line at this time, but I’m sticking with it.

        Thanks,
        Dave

        1. Dave,

Thanks! Having a well defined goal with deadline to achieve and a big enough of WHY you want to achieve it is the formula for accomplishing great things. Don’t give up.
