I am the master of my fate

The last two lines of the poem Invictus concludes with “I am the master of my fate. I am the captain of my soul.” After returning from holiday I decided to step up and take control of my destiny. If there is a certain destiny you want for your life then create it. And that is what I did.

Right brain vs left brain

You have heard that people are either right brain or left brain. Right brain people are the creative types. The left brain people are the analytical types. I am a strong left brain person but work in an environment with some of the most talented right brain people I have ever met.

In the past year I have learned how to do video editing with Adobe Premier and After Effects. I have started to create graphics with Adobe Photoshop. I have learned to write scripts for a video shoot, control the teleprompter and man the camera filming the action.

In taking action I decided to take what I have learned and create something graphical that I could sell. You always see people selling graphic packages. So I decided to create my own graphics packages.

Facebook Timeline Covers

For the past week I have been working hard at creating custom Facebook timeline covers. These are fully layered Photoshop PSD files. All you have to do is replace the text and be able to sell them to businesses for a nice profit. You could even send the modified timeline with a potential clients name and details to them when soliciting their business.

All total there are 7 different Facebook timeline covers that I have created. I am selling them for $7.

In reality you can use them for any type of business not for the ones that I use for the demo. For example you can take the restaurant demo and just change the text and make it from a Chiropractor office. Just change the pictures to reflect the line of business.

Master of My Fate

 What did it take for me to start producing my own products? I took the sage advice that is only 3 words long – Decide. Commit. Achieve. I decided that I wanted to create my own products. I then spent the past week plus working on my design.

As I mentioned above I am not a right brain person. Yet I work with 2 guys that are just incredible in creating the most amazing graphics. Sitting next to them, I have chosen to soak up what they have created and then started to learn how to do it myself.

In total I created 15 Facebook Timeline Covers. It took me 7 days and about 45 hours to create them. This sounds crazy but for the first couple of hours I looked at every graphic WSO in the past 3 months on the Warrior Forum. I wrote down what I liked and what people were doing that was successful.

Once I had a framework then I started working on mastering Photoshop. I use Photoshop at work but I am not the sharpest crayon when it comes to using it. Though by the time I created the 15th Facebook timeline cover, I was getting a heck of a lot faster.

I also spent way too much time trying to strive for perfection. I could have finished this several days ago if I did not try to perfect everything. I recommend that you get something completed quickly and not wait until it fits your definition of perfect.

What is Next

I have written down that I am going to create custom videos that people can use for Amazon review websites. Everyone knows how valuable video is in increasing your website ranking and bringing traffic to your website.

I have sketched out several different possibilities for the videos. The options include:

• creating videos for 2-3 different product categories so that you can reach a wide range of audience
• create multiple versions of the videos since some people complain that others that purchase have the video on YouTube. With multiple versions, you can post one of the other versions.
• Offer custom intros (and possibly outros) as an OTO. I will create a short 10-15 intro to the video that includes your website url and tagline. That will differentiate your video from anybody else video.

Another option is to continue to create graphics products. As I learn more about Photoshop then I can get faster and faster at creating graphics products.
