Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity. In February I had an amazing opportunity presented to me that resulted from 18 months of preparation on my part. That luck allowed me to earn online almost double my day job income.
Most of you know that I have over 50 websites promoting different products on Amazon. Once I am able to escape from the rat race I am going to split the income from these websites between my two sisters.
This will provide them with a healthy passive income stream that they can do whatever they want to do with it.
I am working on my building my own passive income stream that will allow me to escape the rat race that does not depend on my Amazon affiliate income.
I am on the verge of escaping the rat race. My birthday is April 8th and if everything goes according to plan I will submit my resignation on that day. Happy Birthday to me – BIG TIME!
When I submit my resignation I am saying my last day at work will be May 15th. Only because I am the Project Manager on two very, very critical projects for my company. One goes to Pilot in April and the other one must be finished by May. This allows me to gracefully leave without leaving the company in a bind during this critical time period.
Why no posts in past three weeks?
As I mentioned above I was presented with a great opportunity in February. Someone contacted me and wanted to purchase five of my Amazon Affiliate websites.
I did not realize this but you can find out every website that is hosted on a single IP address at host gator. If someone knew any of my Amazon affiliate websites then they could easily uncover ALL of them. And this is how the opportunity was presented.
This person found all of my websites. Evidently he spent some time researching each and every one of them. Then he picked the ones that he liked the most.
One day I got an email from this person offering to purchase five of my websites. Of course he offered to purchase five of my most profitable websites.
As you can imagine I was not interested in selling almost 25% of my Amazon affiliate income especially when I am so close to escaping the rat race myself.
So after multiple back and forth emails this person said they liked the format of my websites and how the information was displayed from Amazon. Basically what he wanted to buy was “how” I was building my affiliate websites and not really the income from those websites.
My Amazon Affiliate income “Secret Sauce”
About two years ago I had a custom plugin built for me. It pulled information from Amazon and formatted it according to my specs.
No other auto posting plugin on the market formatted data like my plugin. For that reason I was able to get organic rankings in Google for my websites for many long-tail keywords.
For that reason these websites would auto post one or two new products each and every week and I would get commissions from them.
He wanted to buy my “secret sauce” which was my plugin.
So what we agreed upon was to sell two of my existing sites and give him unlimited domain usage of my plugin. He could go out and start creating multiple websites like me and generate income from them.
Sold Two Amazon Affiliate Websites
By giving him the keys to my kingdom I was able to reach an agreement and sold two of my Amazon affiliate websites.
It was a win-win deal. He got my plugin and two profitable websites that will generate income from day one. I got seed money to make improvements to my custom plugin.
In addition I agreed to fund the cost of making additional changes to my custom plugin that only he would have access to.
The purchase price was $4,000.
Book Royalties
My books on Amazon just keep plugging away each and every month generating income.
If you write a book I highly recommend that you publish it in both paperback and Kindle format on Amazon. Why deny yourself a income stream by only publishing in one format only?
As soon as I quit my day job I am going to spend quite a bit of time in writing new content. I am going to take a strategy that I learned from attending NAMS to re-purpose some of my articles. (Read my review of NAMS here)
My first step is to take the wealth of articles that I have written on real estate investing and property management and combine them into a series of short books on Amazon.
By having good analytics data I know what are my top 10% of the 200+ articles that I have written. I know which ones are read each and every month.
I will be focusing on these top 10% and converting them into my series of short books.
My last step is to write my ultimate guide to landlording for real estate investors.
In February 2014 I earned $32.94 from book royalties.
Adsense
Adsense is another great way to monetize your websites. You can just place the adsense code on your website and then sit back and wait for someone to click on the ad. Then you collect a check from Adsense for all the clicks.
Well it is not exactly that easy. Adsense has a minimum of $100 threshold before they send payments.
I recently received a check for $100.73 because I finally reached that $100 threshold for payments.
I have used adsense to monetize my niche hvac website. This website has generated some income each and every month since I installed Adsense.
I added Adsense code on just two of my most popular posts on my real estate investing website. They immediately started to produce income.
When I quit my day job then I will spend time to make sure every post on my real estate investing website has Adsense added to it.
I am also going to try adding Adsense to my Amazon affiliate websites. Not sure how this will turn out but I will never know until I try it.
In February 2014 I earned $9.95 from Adsense.
Solo Ads
In February I did not hustle as much in selling my solo ads.
There is great potential to make money with solo ads. One of the people that I have followed closely in learning about solo ads is Lewis Turner.
He claims to make over $15,000 per month with solo ads. Like any claim you have to take it with a grain of salt but I think he is very successful but I question whether or not he is earning over $15k per month just from selling solo ads. I think he includes coaching and selling custom funnels in that monthly price.
Regardless of the skepticism on my part, there is no denying that he is successful with solo ads.
Recently he started doing these webinars sharing how to get started with solo ads. His recent webinar opened the kimono and showed the “secret sauce” to his legendary “Turner Funnel”.
The “Turner Funnel” claims that if you purchase a 100 click solo ad that it will generate 180 subscribers to your email list.
Luckily for me he records the webinars and you can listen to them at your leisure. He charges $10 per webinar. I have listened to two of them.
As a result I have made some changes to my system and tested it on three very cheap 50 click solo ads that I purchased.

Even with selling s0lo ads as a reseller I am still able to generate a reasonable income considering the lack of time that I spend on the business.
I try to keep my head down at work and not spend time surfing the internet, chatting, or sending text messages. Because of that I am blocked from 9 hours each day of working on my solo ad business.
Once I quit my day job I will have the necessary time available to focus on this income stream.
In February 1014 I earned $182.50 from solo ads.
Affiliate Marketing
I am proud to report that I made my second sale from promoting safe ride 4 kids. I also made multiple sales from my stand up paddle board website.
Because I am running into a deadline here to leave the house I am just going to cut to the chase.

My custom plugin has been my “secret sauce” behind my Amazon affiliate websites.
Right now I am working on improving it. I found a new programmer in Malaysia. He is currently programming these improvements to my custom plugin.
I got an email from him this morning and I will have it available to beta test Tuesday of next week. But we all know how programming goes so it maybe Tuesday or later.
When I have the plugin finished and tested, I will be selling it to the public.
Yes that puts my websites at risk since everybody and their brother will be able to exactly duplicate my success. But I do know that nobody is going to put in the effort needed to surpass me. Plus come May 15th I will have 24 hours a day to dedicate myself to keeping my online income stream intact.
Right now I am planning on selling the plugin for $47. You will be able to use it on unlimited domains that you own.
This allows you to go out and build 50+ websites like me to promote Amazon affiliate products.
I haven’t decided how to handle flipping of domains and whether or not you will be able to flip domains with it or have a different price point for people that want to flip domains.

Do you only have duplicate content on the 50 Amazon sites that you are using your plugin on or do you mainly have unique content and a small amount of duplicate content?
Can I see a demo of the type of content that your plugin can generate? Is the content unique in the eyes of Google?

Since it is auto posting information from Amazon it contains information from there. But what makes it unique is that the layout of the information that is pulled from Amazon is unique. You can see what it produces when I have the plugin finished.

I think you are confusing a couple of things. Each of your 10 Amazon sites have their own amazon id which is what I think you are saying. Now the next question is who hosts your websites? Is it hostgator? If so then all of your websites have the same IP address. That is how this person found all of my websites. There is a website that you can go to and put in an IP address and it shows you every website at that IP address. They showed me and that was how they found my websites.

I host some of my websites with hostgator and they all have the same IP address. If one of my websites gets penalized for overly aggressive link building, does that mean that google will penalize the rest of the websites on that same IP address? Is there anyway I can get hostgator to change my IP address?

I am not an SEO expert but my answer is definitely not. Not only are your domains on that single IP address but you have about 100 other domains belonging to other people that you do not know. If they did something Google did not like and penalized them then it would not drag down your website because of their action.
